I was in Tokyo and had the chance to make reservations for Luida's Bar, the Dragonquest-themed bar in the Roppongi area. It was quite fun! The place is very small, with spots to stand rather than sit, and set time slots with the reservations, although you get about an hour and a half.

When they brought the drinks, they made us say the spell names before they finished mixing the drink, as if we were casting it. I had a mahyadedosu (snowstorm/blizzard/kacrackle), others got drop killer jugglings, and we split slime-stamped meat buns and sweet potato buns. A bit before we left, the server gave me a small plastic slime.

3 pictures under cut!Collapse )

Never mind finally facing and defeating the real Murdaw:Penetrating his keep was a pain in the @$$.I lost track of how many times I had to reboot my DS due to Nevan going down too soon.I'm just lucky Whack failed everytime those mudslingers and that one urnexpected cast it on a party member.Once I finally did reach Murdaw, the party held up against his first form;but at one point(despite Carver using Double Up religiously,Milly constantly Kabuffing the party, and Nevan doing likewise with the Staff of Ghent),I was down to both Hero and Milly(both down to severe critical HP),and I had to take consecutive rounds breaking from damage dealing to heal both especially due to his occasional Dazzle attacks, and even then I feared the worst. However, once I started hitting Murdaw hard again,I never realized how severely I softened him up(tracking his HP wad the last thing I had on my mind).Just a couple hits(after fully healing both hero and Milly)was all it took to silence him once and for all.Anyone else have trouble with Murdaw and/or his keep, even when overleveling?

For those who have both beaten Corvus and the second form of the Lleviathan, what accolade were you given by Stella upon the reunion?I earned the 'Easy Rider' title, but could have easily qualified for either 'Exterminator' or 'Immaculate Conception' as well based on the type of game I played...

By now it's old news: Terry's Wonderland got a remake for the 3DS, released in Japan back at the end of May, and it looks great. I am eager for news of an English release. I think we'll probably get one; they've done the past several titles. Definitely on my to-buy list when that happens.

What's slightly newer is that Dragonquest VII is also getting a 3DS remake, coming out in Japan in February. Looks good, too. Once again, no word yet of an English release, but I'd assume it's likely

I will be deeply grateful to anyone who gets more updated news on the possibility of these being translated.

Based on personal experience, they can be found exclusively as a support monster either on the third floor(alongside cumulus vexes,barbatoses,and/or killing machines)or less frequently the fifth floor(alongside a gigantes which happened just once by accident). Are there any other such possible scenarios?

I'm now playing through Dragon Quest VI, and I wrote a post on my WordPress blog about some of the references I noticed to classical mythology, fairy tales, and the like.

Several months ago,I moved and haven't successfully been able to connect my first-gen DS to the new internet connection(U-verse)and thus have missed months of DQVC-ing.Turns out that upon recent tests my DS doesn't support the security settings of the new home connection.I've been luckier with a couple unsecured public wi-fi hot spots(one a short walk from home and the other near work)with those same tests.Does this problem exist with newer DS versions(from the DS Lite onward)?

It might be next to impossible to find jobs in the real world, but in the video game world it's quite easy. This post I wrote on my WordPress is about the job system in the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series.
